Lord Ahriman from Dark Funeral

Global Domination: We at Global Domination saw fit to add your release to our esteemed Class 6(66) hall of fame. Do you feel this album is worthy of such an honor?

Lord Ahriman: Sure, yet it’s a great honour indeed! Hail Satan!

GD: What was the ultimate goal for you while recording this album?

Lord Ahriman: As always one set up several goals when recording an album, both as a musician but also on a more personal level. Musically it should be quite obvious to anyone that one wants to overcome oneself, but also push yourself to the utter limit as for what you really can do playing-wise. Personally one of the many goals is to release and please my inner demons.

GD: Name something of interest that you remember from the recording sessions.

Lord Ahriman: One of the first things that comes to my mind is how we rigged the drumset with mics and other crazy shit so it eventually looked like a spaceship. It was something we all had a good laugh at…

GD: If you could change any one thing about this album, what would you change?

Lord Ahriman: I really, really try to not think in those terms, as if I did, I would probably want to change too many things it would drive me insane. It´s better to accept the result and think like “this was the best we could do at the present time”. So to ease my own self-criticism I rather try to let each album represent its time and year and leave it as it is and move on…

GD: Why do you think this album means so much to those who consider it a Class 6(66)?

Lord Ahriman: It may please your own masochistic lusts perhaps, who knows?!

GD: Finally, as an artist and musician, what special place does this album hold in your heart?

Lord Ahriman: As I mentioned before. Each album reflects an era of my life so do this. Now, I’ve moved on, begun a new hellish chapter in the Dark Funeral saga, a new album is completed in the name of “Attera Totus Sanctus”. And it shows more in what state of mind I’m at the present time.

Hail Metal. Hail Satan
